Our heroes stood at the brink of a newly revealed stairway, debating their next move. Thumper’s charm spell finally convinced Carman to join them. Venturing down, they faced a spiraling staircase and soon found themselves ambushed by familiar yet sinister creatures. With Carman’s assistance, they fended off the attackers, though Torren narrowly escaped death.
The descent continued, bringing them face-to-face with a feral velstrac. Drawing on past experiences, our heroes swiftly neutralized the threat. Their journey led them to a grim discovery: cells containing rotting corpses. Dreg’s curiosity about a shiny object led to a skirmish with animated corpses, quickly subdued with Carman’s aid.
In a room filled with medical supplies, they replenished their resources before encountering the spectral form of a morlock. Despite Carman’s sudden ineffectiveness, the ghost was easily dispatched. Experimenting with chains next to tables revealed a hidden pit in the floor.
The charm on Carman expired, and although Thumper tried again, this time he failed. Carman left the group and returned to the surface.
Choosing to remain on their current level, the heroes found a room with damaged statues. Going down a narrow hallway they found another room with a cryptic message: “They are watching you.” A secret door led to a trapped room, blades emerging from the floor. While most fled, Asterion’s size hindered his escape, resulting in his brief unconsciousness before Dreg’s timely rescue.
Now, three of our heroes are trapped in a small room with danger on the other side, their path forward shrouded in uncertainty and peril.
