Our heroes decided to take a short rest within the stone monastery, seeking a brief respite from their relentless journey. However, as they settled, a priest accompanied by his guards emerged. The priest headed straight to his room, which the heroes had used to keep hide all the dead bodies, took his key, and opened the door, revealing the grim truth—a pile of his dead companions’ corpses.
Our heroes rusehd into combad, and as the priest had started casting spells, Mitsui quickly enveloped the area in darkness to prevent him from casting any further. A long and arduous battle ensued, leaving our heroes exhausted. They retreated to the nearby hills, where they took a much-needed rest. Yurian was particularly weary, feeling a bit chilly as he settled down.
During the night, remarkable transformations occurred among their ranks. Mitsui grew several times in size, now towering over her companions, while Yurian exuded a frigid aura, a personal blizzard swirling around him.
The following day, our heroes returned to the monastery, where they noticed a woman training with a few monks. Spotting Mitsui’s large head, the monks approached and, after some conversation, invited her in for food. Sensing something amiss about Mitsui, the woman challenged her to a match. The fight was swift, and Mitsui was knocked unconscious.
Meanwhile, the rest of the heroes snuck into the monastery, convincing the duergar that they belonged there, thanks in part to Valerian’s armor. They were escorted to meet Hellenrae, the leader of the monastery.
As they approached, the tension was palpable. A quick chat escalated into a fierce confrontation. Isaac was swiftly knocked out, but Xeiros used his healing abilities to revive both Isaac and Mitsui. Zonga’s entangle spell restrained Hellenrae, giving the heroes the upper hand. With their combined efforts, they managed to defeat their formidable foe.
