As the group gathered back up after finishing a reason mission, Vatum, a member of the Red Mantis Assassins, greeted them with a new message, someone had been selected for a visit from he who walks. Their target: Ordulf Bladecaller, Gorrum’s unkillable general, an arrogant and illegitimate ruler. The group’s task was not only to eliminate him but also to retrieve his holy symbol. With their destination set, they journeyed to the icy town of Glacier’s Rest.
Upon arrival, the group sought refuge at the local tavern, owned by Gundar Icebreaker. Excited to show off his namesake, he broke slabs of ice in front of the group for entertainment. Gundar provided the group with valuable information about Ordulf and offered them food and rooms for the night.
Armed with new knowledge, the group began their investigation of Crownhold and its overconfident ruler. They discovered that Ordulf had been granted Gorrum’s major boon, rendering him nearly invincible, able to defeat even death. However, his arrogance was his Achilles’ heel—insults would be his bane.
With a plan in mind, the group infiltrated Crownhold under the guise of a caravan. Bjorn, the minotaur, struggled to blend in due to his imposing presence. Yet, with the help of his fellow assassins, he managed to sneak back into the fortress.
The group navigated through the keep’s dark corridors, eventually reaching the basement, where they found a furnace and a hidden vault, taking the treasure they found within. But fortune was not entirely on their side. While examining a prayer book, a patrol entered the vault. Without hesitation, the group launched a surprise attack. After a fierce battle filled with strategic backstabs and cunning maneuvers, they defeated the war priest and his two guards.
With their enemies vanquished and the loot in hand, our intrepid adventurers prepared for the next phase of their mission: confronting the unkillable Ordulf Bladecaller. The stage was set for a showdown that would be remembered in the annals of history.
