Abomination Vaults Session 3 Recap

In a whirlwind of chaos and bravery, our heroes sprang into action, rushing to Asterion’s side, trying to get him out of the room as the restless kobold spirits finally calmed. Realizing they needed to lay the spirits to rest, they decided to burn the bones. Asterion, recalling a kobold corpse near the entrance, dashed off to retrieve it.

After a brief respite to tend to their wounds, they re-entered the room to burn the bones. Torren, leading the way, was suddenly gripped by fear as the spirits flared up again, causing him to attack his allies in confusion. They managed to escape the room, and Asterion ignited the bones, bringing peace to the spirits.

Determined to explore further, they discovered a secret door leading to a shrine of an unknown god. Inside, they found several corpses. As they approached the altar, two corpses sprang to life, attacking fiercely. The battle was intense, and just as they thought they had won, a light animated a third corpse. Exhausted and battered, they were all knocked out, only to be saved by Wrin, who had a premonition of their need. She healed them, but feeling uneasy, quickly returned to town.

Undeterred, the heroes pressed on, opening another door to reveal a giant scorpion. They wisely retreated to rest at Wrin’s. The next day, they returned, ready for battle. Asterion charged in but was swiftly knocked out by the scorpion’s deadly pincers and stinger, leaving him poisoned. The fight was grueling, with Asterion repeatedly brought back from the brink of death. Finally, they landed the decisive blow, felling the scorpion. With Asterion barely clinging to life, their healing magic proved just enough to save him.
