Abomination Vaults Session 7 Recap: Deadtide for Otari

Our heroes rushed to the cupola, where they found the blood had transformed into a strange misty form. Engaging the creature in combat, they discovered that Dreg’s arrows were ineffective, but Asterion’s fire proved to be its weakness. As the lighthouse began to shake, they hurried outside, noticing a blue light shining towards Otari.

Dreg, braving the life-draining effects, rushed to the top of the light house for a better view. There he saw the light focusing on the Otari graveyard. The group split up, with some heading directly to the cemetery and others fetching the guards. Reuniting at the cemetery, they encountered skeletons wandering about. The guards, initially terrified, were convinced to assist after a stern pep talk.

As they planned to lure the skeletons, more undead, including zombies, emerged. One eager guard rushed in, destroying a skeleton, prompting the heroes to join the fray. They swiftly dealt with the undead, but before they could rest, a spider-like creature attacked, spewing toxic oil. The heroes defeated it, earning the guards’ gratitude.

They then woke Vandy to show her the aftermath and discussed a plan to grind the corpses and bones into powder to grow an orchard. The next day, they visited the mill, meeting the half-orc Korte and learning it was owned by Mayor Oseph Menhemes. Coincidentally, the mayor had been seeking them. They explained their plan and received permission to use the mill.

Officially hired to investigate the ruins and prevent another undead uprising, each hero was offered 50 gold. Thumper negotiated the price down, using the extra gold to buy the Thirsty Alpaca. Additionally, they were offered a position to tutor the mayor’s daughter, Dorianna, in societal skills.
