Our heroes decided to ascend to the floor above, in order to follow a previously discovered stairwell down. It led them to the room where they had battled the destrachan. Inside, they encountered a seugathi, who, noticing resemblances between some of our heroes and the fleshwarped, was swayed by Thumper’s quick thinking into believing they were allies of Jafaki. The seugathi directed them to a room to the south to collect some items.
Upon securing the useful items, they stumbled upon a hidden hallway. Navigating through it, they encountered another seugathi who had witnessed their fight with the Shangrigol Behemoth, alongside morlocks modified into half-machine spider-like beings. Once more, Thumper’s charm prevailed, befriending this seugathi.
The seugathi invited them into a sauna. As they entered, a terrible stench hit them, and they noticed feet peeking out from locked stalls, all linked to a lever. Dreg used his mage hand to activate the lever from a distance, releasing ghasts from the other side. The seugathi was furious, demanding the ghasts be returned to their cells, undead.
A battle ensued, with our heroes knocking out the ghasts rather than killing them. Dreg released a mist cloud for concealment. Surprisingly, the seugathi and his warped morlocks refrained from attacking. However, as they moved past the seugathi, the ghasts assaulted him, prompting him to order his minions to attack.
As the fight reached its climax, Thumper suddenly turned on the seugathi, then on Asterion, revealing the seugathi’s mind fogging influence. Realizing the seugathi’s manipulation, our heroes turned their attacks on him, defeating him and claiming his items, including a tarnished silver key.
Continuing to the sauna, they found a grey-skinned man with “victor” inscribed on his forehead. Upon learning of our heroes fleshwarped state, and claiming that Jafaki had ordered him to fight the devils with them in order to be fleshwarped himself. After some more attempts at deception, he tried to push past our heroes to go see Jafaki. A fight broke out, and despite an offer to surrender from Torren, he fled, only to be swiftly caught and defeated by our relentless dungeon delvers.
