As our heroes delved deeper into the vaults, they discovered an unexplored room, only to be ambushed by a wisp. The creature targeted Dreg, forcing him to retreat, while the rest of the group swiftly destroyed it. Within the same area, they found a strange swamp water-filled bowl. Peering into the water, Asterion glimpsed Belcorra’s menacing visage, an experience that left him shaken and mentally distressed.
Further investigation revealed a trap door leading downward. Bags took the lead, descending into the room where numerous creatures were contained. The party followed and once again encountered the witchfire warden. This time, determined to end her menace, they slowed her down and decisively defeated her. Exhausted by her repeated presence, the heroes smashed all the remaining containers. Fortunately, the creatures within perished as the containers shattered, sparing the group from further threats.
Their work done for the moment, the heroes returned to Otari to rest and prepare for the challenges ahead. When they felt ready, they used the completed pendant to unlock a gate and confront Uravian. The enigmatic being greeted them warmly and ordered his guards to stand down. He presented the group with a proposition: bring him the soul of Carman Rajani to fulfill his purpose on the material plane. In exchange, he would sever his contract with Belcorra, depart the material realm, and open the path to even deeper levels of the vaults.
The heroes, uncertain of how to proceed, requested time to consider the offer. They decided to give Carman one last chance at redemption, a decision Uravian accepted with confidence, doubting the possibility of Carman’s change.
With new moral dilemmas and the path forward hanging in the balance, the heroes prepare for what lies ahead.
