- After the fight, and no longer being under Aduial’s suggestion spell, Fake left the rest of the group behind.
- The rest of the group began looking around Baba Lysaga’s hut. They saw the quiet baby in the crib, still rocking back and forth. They were able to identify it as an illusion spell. Underneath the crib was one of the gems from the wizard of wines.
- They continued looking around and found a chest. They were able to identify a glyph of warding spell on it and dispelled it before opening the chest. Inside the chest was a sword hilt amongst other items, our heroes were able to identify the hilt as being the Sunsword, a blade who’s sole purpose is to destroy Strahd.
- Our heroes met with Muriel and gave her the gem to return to the Martikov family.
- Our heroes returned to Vallaki to rest and speak with Danika, informing her of what they learned and what happened.
- Fake however continued on to the Vistani camp, running into an old woman on the road whom he helped pull her cart and who thanked him by giving him sweet pastries which tasted like mincemeat pies
- The group in Vallaki split up, with Valora, Aduial, and Bophir went off to the lake. When they arrived they saw some boats on the shore, and one person fishing in the middle of the lake. They took one of the boats and went to the middle of the lake. The man was non responsive, but then took a sack and threw it overboard. Seeing some movement, Valora teleported it into their boat. They opened it to see a girl inside. Questioning the man he was still unresponsive until the group used magic to compel him to reply, he told our group that she was a vistani and was good luck so he wanted fish. In turn Aduial killed the man.
- The group then released the girl, and while thankful, she was a bit upset that Valora wouldn’t ungag her. They learned her name was Arabelle and she is a Vistani. The group went to the Vistani camp outside of Vallaki where they spoke with her father who offered them a reward as thanks.
- Fake then arrived at the Vistani camp, who all welcomed him with and offered him food and drink. He talked with them for a bit before continuing on to speak with Madam Eva, who confirmed she could only tell him what she the cards told, she had no additional information for him.
- As the group in Vallaki went to rest for the night, Valroa was awoken by a sleepy Danika, who told her that Lady Fiona was here to talk with her. After speaking with her briefly, Valora learned that Strahd had asked to speak with her and promised no harm would befall her. Valora took her precautions and woke up Aduial and let him know what was happening before she left with Fiona. Aduial in turn woke up Bophir and the two went to the church to get Zeltron.
- At Lady Fiona’s house Strahd greeted Valora, the two talked and shared a bit of information, however Strahd had come with a proposition, In exchange for information on how she was still alive, and his tome, Strahd would allow Valora to leave Barovia. After some discussion, Strahd told Valora to meet him back at Fiona’s in two nights with her answer.
- As Valora left she saw Strahd was walking behind her in the same direction. Upon the road splitting Valora was able to see her travel companions, and quickly went to them, only to see Strahd go the opposite direction, back towards the town exit and Castle Ravenloft.
- Zeltron took out his new Sunsword and approached Strahd, who warned them that he would fight back if they fought. Bophir cast wall of light on Strahd, causing a fight to break out. Valora told Strahd she had nothing to do with this and they wouldn’t listen to her, and Strahd told her as long as she didn’t assist them the deal was still on, Valora even countered her own companion’s spells. Strahd fought while retreating to avoid the light, but the party decided to retreat after a bit of fighting.
