Infra Session 14 Recap

Our heroes wanted to take a moment to catch their breath, but as they did a poisonous gas started to come out of the floor and fill the room. The group determined it was flammable and threw a lit torch in while leaving the room. Going back in they noticed more gas coming, although it stopped when they left. Sion managed to pry apart some plates and found a tube, once again causing a small explosion. They queried whether they should have Fang summon a construct to go through the tube but in the end decided against it.

Returning to the jungle-like room, they once again tried to heal, but as they did so a small needle struck Fang in the neck. They looked but all they could see was the lush vegetation. Zuko used a burst of healing energy, and that didn’t seem to have any repercussions. Our group moved on, and were once again attacked by random things. This time they saw some plans moving though. 3 creatures attacked them, a walking sunflower-like being, a cactus-like being, and a diseased leafy being. Our heroes felt sickened as these creatures hit, and when they died vegetation grew. Scott, who had been insisting he wouldn’t play the game, would just reap the growing plant life with his scythe.

After the fight the group investigated the area and found some pipes in the ground. Scott identified them as pipes that would have more poisonous gas, so the group started moving again. Alas, they didn’t find anything, and so they tried to light something on fire. Here they learned that the pipes were actually water pipes, not poison. They followed the pipes and found a hidden door. On the other side was a room filled with paintings, statues, armor, and candles. There was also a door at the end of the room. Unsure of what to do, Scott pushed a suite of armor down. Zuko was taking the paintings off the wall. Fang was going around casting detect magic. He did manage to find some pings, but then was attacked by 2 suites of living armor. Sion had opened the door and 3 brooms came to life as well. The group destroyed the armors but started attacking the other suites of armor and statues as well before realizing these were just regular items.

In the broom closet they found a bucket and a valve. They used a candle and managed to find a secret door. They couldn’t find a way of opening it however. Going back to the broom closet they turned the valve and water started into the room, filling the half of the room without the secret door and draining into the jungle. They were about to go back to the jungle but Scott had an idea. He took the bucket, filled it up, and splashed the secret door with water, causing it to open.

Walking down a hall they eventually came to a man sitting on a chair petting a tiger. He saw the group approach and asked if they were going to do this. Asking him what, he explained he was paid to kill the people coming out. It was just entertainment. Our group promised him equal pay for no work, and managed to convince him. He lead them out of town but they quickly turned on him. Having already taken some fall damage earlier, and having had a certain large orc fall on him, he was already heavily injured when the fight started. Our group made quick work of him, and now had to decide what to do next.
