Our travelers tried to get into through the gate by breaking it, however any damage they did immediately healed back up. At one point they tried to burn it but Sparky immediately stopped that. Our travelers attracted a few more zombies as one of them screamed out in frustration. They quickly took care of the zombies. Sparky, being rather small, was able to step through the gate and explored a bit. He noticed stairs going down and followed them for a bit but decided he didn’t want to go too far on his own.
As our group spent the night, Zonku recovered from the zombie rot with the help of his companions. In the morning Sparky prepared the shrink spell, allowing his party members to get through, all but Zonku, who would need to wait until the next day when Sparky could prepare more spells.
The next day Sparky prepared another shrink spell allowing Zonku to get in. The group traveled further down the tree, as a separate groups. Christmas and Zuko went first. Zuko saw some writing on the wall but couldn’t read it, so he engraved it into his arm. Zuko then continued on, seeing a titanic flytrap. He managed to jump over it, just barely. He continued to explore, when he was attacked by a number of roots that struck out at him. Although they initially grappled him, he quickly managed to escape and ran away. When he came back he saw Christmas trapped in the titanic flytrap. The two managed to get him free and go a bit further back, where they encountered the rest of the party.
As they healed up, the writing carved into Zuko’s arm was healed, Zuko brought the party back to the wall with the writing where they saw the text written in druidic. It translated to the following.
“ My child, if necessary, you may break certain oaths. Do not however share this language with others”.
Our heroes continued on and came to a small underground passageway that was flooded. They saw some leshys out in the water. Sparky called out to them and managed to convince them he was here on Willowblade’s behalf. They went down for a minute and returned, providing Sparky with a magical folding boat. Taking the boat across the waters they saw an underwater passage, but decided to continue on.
About to get off the beach, Christmas noticed a trap built into the walls. He managed to disable it, although died in the process as a burst of necrotic energy killed him.
