- Our heroes went into the temple, where they were greeted by a monk who brought them to the head priest.
- The head priest was in prayer, his body had frost on it. Our heroes touched him and felt it was indeed cold, he told them this was something that can just be learned. He asked our heroe to go down below as he believes the source of all their troubles to be from down below. Our heroes questioned him as they doubted his motives.
- Not entirely sure what to do, our heroes went back out and tried to bring Rudolph with them. Corvus used Command to force Rudolph to speak, they learned this was indeed Rudolph, but he seemed to have troubles remembering things, but was able to recollect somethings as Fang mentioned things about Rudolph’s past.
- Our heroes decided to bring him to the temple, despite him not wanting to. As they brought him closer his head seemed to hurt his head. Our heroes debated on what to do but in the end decided to bring him into the template anyways.
- The priest, Loba, shocked, asked them what they were doing with Rudolph, revealing he knew Rudolph’s name despite having previously said he didn’t know as the child didn’t speak. Our heroes questioned him some more, and learned he was also pulled here like them, by some shadowy creature. He blamed Rudolph for what was happening, having seen some sort of power coming from him.
- Our heroes debated what to do but decided to go down, taking Rudolph with them. As they started walking the monks that accompanied them cried out in pain as their bodies burst out in fire. Our heroes prepared to fight them, as each of these burning creatures targeted Rudolph. Our heroes managed to destroy them, but were unable to heal Rudolph afterwards.
- Trying the doors, our heroes found one that was protected by a force field. Chaos opened a door and saw a couple people who seemed to be overcome with madness. One of them short a frost blast at our heroes, as Chaos broke down another door and Corvus shut a door, they managed to take down the two men.
- Investigating the room they found it to be a library full of books, and Monday found a small piece of glowing iron which had fallen off the man he killed. Chaos took a number of the books.
- Our heroes investigated the other room that was unlocked, which turned out to be a dorm. They found a small disc which had a slot that seemed to fit the earlier piece of iron. Putting them both together produced a pulse.
- Our heroes decided to try the pulse by the force field, which caused the field to disappear. When it did, everyone but Fang passed out, Fang found himself to have a new ability, as did the others upon regaining consciousness. They also each felt the urge to eat ice.
- Our heroes decided to take a rest, as Fang cast Cozy Cabin for a place to sleep. Unfortunately in the middle of the night a group of ghosts appeared and attacked Rudolph once more. Our heroes were still able to make quick work of these enemies.
- The next day our heroes decided to go back up with Rudolph, all but Chaos who stayed behind, and looked through some of the books only to discover they were all blank.
- Talking with the priest, they learned he is a demon, specifically a balor, and is trying to take over Rudolph’s body. He did offer to help our heroes escape this place and let them live if they helped him. They also learned that true to his word he was unable to go downstairs, as he got pushed back by some invisible force every time he tried.
