Infra Session 39 Recap

  • Our heroes called Chaos up, and they tried to make Loba touch Rudolph, but he absolutely refused to, warning our heroes not to continue what they were doing.
  • Our heroes eventually decided to force Rudolph out of the village, however as they were walking in the fog, Corvus, who was holding Rudolph’s hand, felt it just fade away. Upon returning to the village the townsfolk apparently no longer recognized them.
  • Corvus went to Rudolph, whose injuries were still on him. Asking him how he received them, Rudolph pointed to Corvus.
  • Meanwhile, Chaos, Monday, and Fang spoke to Loba, wondering if he was reset as well. They determined he was, and asked him to bring about the people who had been affected oddly. He told them he would gather them up. They then headed downstairs quickly and saw this area had not been reset..
  • Our heroes rejoined with Corvus, and they discussed what to do, with some discussion about potentially killing the young Rudolph.
  • They gathered back up with Loba, and saw the abilities of the people in town. They then decided to head back downstairs. Fang however decided to stay out and spend some more time with Rudolph.
  • Monday, Chaos, and Corvus approached the beetle carapaces and fought them off, after defeating one some alcohol left Monday and revitalized one, serving as his new divine mount.
  • They continued and saw 3 doors, choosing one of them and going in the room they saw some glowing corpses which began to attack. Sadly, the biggest threat to the party wasn’t the zombies but rather Fang who had just rejoined them and unleashed his dragon breath in the room, severely damaging Corvus.
  • In the next room they found a glowing rapier, however on his way to pick it up Chaos triggered a trap, which slightly hurt him.
  • The rapier turned out to have once been a dwarven woman named Azarim who also served Cayden Cailean. She was friends with Rudolph and was also trapped here.
  • Moving on to the next room, our heroes encountered insect-like fiends known as wihsaak. They spoke telepathically with our heroes, and informed them that they were also here not by choice but were brought here as casualties. Our heroes convinced them they would help the balor and help everyone escape.
  • Opening one last door they found found a scroll, which Corvus’ familiar ate, before they approached a room that was covered in ice. In the center of a room was an ice crystal with fire slowly pulsating within it. Corvus’ familiar explored it, as they heard some sort of pounding, only to be attacked by a creature with a hard shell, sharp claws, and a powerful bite.
  • Our heroes tried to fight the creature but were told not to by Azarim, as she believed it to be aligned with Rudolph. Our heroes decided to temporarily retreat for the time being.
