The female spellcaster slave introduced herself as Evelyn. Our travellers started trying to torture, wanting to learn what he was doing and where he was going. They threatened to tell Willowblade, he laughed it off, and told them to go ahead and tell Willowblade. He told them to let him die, otherwise he would face hell. That they should just kill him. He wouldn’t share anything else though, not where he was going, who he worked for, etc. Finally they planned to leave him to “die” but secretly follow him. After leaving them, Dave secretly went back and ended the man’s life.
The other slaves they had saved were rather distraught by all this. While originally thankful and hopefully they could be escorted back, they now weren’t sure about these travellers. In the end they agreed to go with them to Norende but asked to stay there. Our heroes agreed, and Evelyn and Ducai spent the night in town. Ducai’s wife stayed in town and did not follow them. Evelyn did a bit of shopping with Ducai before they headed back out. Our travelers then returned to Pescaria.
While there they learned about a merchant that had shown up about 6 months prior named Leon. He was a very wealthy merchant from the continent of Bastralle, to the west. He had very large ships, and money was not his primary concern, he loved adventure and finding rare and intriguing finds. They also spoke with an ex blade member who they found fishing. He retired to enjoy the rest of his life in peace, but had nothing but good things to say about Willowblade. He mentioned he believed Willowblade was waiting for a ship for Enga, a city in Bestralle renowned for his jewelry. He hadn’t shown up when the ship had though.
Recalling some rumours of some smugglers along the southern part of the continent, our travellers followed the coastline east. After a few days of travel they came to a sunken ship just off the shore. Evelyn’s familiar noticed it. As they looked around a bit more they found what seemed to be a well travelled route going north into the forest. They started to follow this pathway north.
After another 10 days of travel they reached some sort of encampment. They were immediately attacked by a group of 4 orcs. They fought and had a bit better synergy this time, with Kernoff protecting his allies to the best of his ability. The orcs fought with a relentless fury, taking hit after hit and seemingly half dead they still fought. When Fang used his magic to cast burning hands, they all started to swarm him. Luckily, even though he was knocked out, Evelyn managed to cast some healing on him.
