Outlaws of Alkenstar Session 10 Recap: The Clockwork Conundrum

Our heroes resumed their investigation of the workshop, noting that numerous clocks were frozen at exactly 2:02:07. A friendly cat, wandering around, was quickly befriended. It recounted a tale of people wielding thunderous weapons who had driven out its master.

As the exploration continued, a pair of clockwork spheres suddenly activated. Our heroes swiftly neutralized them, though their destruction triggered explosive results. Undeterred, the heroes pressed on, dismantling another malfunctioning clockwork that posed little threat.

Venturing further, they stumbled upon a room swarming with small, biting robots. Tragedy struck as Stirmi’s attempt to fend them off resulted in the death of their feline companion. In the loft above, they encountered Joniah, a teenager who corroborated the cat’s story, adding that individuals with golden guns had arrived, forcing Kosowana to flee on a previously dormant flying clockwork.

The journey led them to another damaged clockwork with missing legs. This machine, calling itself “Swee Pup,” expressed its fear of ceasing to function without its winding key. Demonstrating compassion and ingenuity, Rahvin fashioned a new turnkey and revitalized Swee Pup.

In their search for clues, the heroes discovered a book, Logic of Design, and sought out section 2.2.7, only to find it missing. This prompted a return to the temple of Brigh for further investigation. There, they unearthed a passage about the Cradle of Quartz. However, their research was interrupted by serpentine creatures that leapt from the book, launching an attack. Our heroes managed to defeat them before continuing their research.
