A band of adventurers converged upon a single caravan en route to Red Larch, each drawn by a unique call to the Dessarin Valley. This eclectic crew consisted of:
- Isaac, the aasimar blacksmith squire of Helm.
- Mitsui, the aasimar monk devoted to Ameterasu.
- Shabri, the enigmatic magic-wielder, often mistaken for a gnome.
- Xeiros, the elven elemental druid.
- Yurian, the stoic human ranger from the North.
- Zonga D’badger, the warrior gnome with a towering presence.
Upon their arrival in Red Larch, the group dispersed to explore the town. Isaac and Xeiros found themselves at the Allfaith Shrine, where they encountered Imdarr and Lymmura. An unexpected query about marriage from Lymmura set an unusual tone. Meanwhile, Zonga discovered an unofficial tavern, where he promptly settled in for some hearty drinking.
Mitsui’s path led her to a local bakery, indulging in the sweet delights on offer. Yurian, ever the wanderer, roamed through town, stopping first at a blacksmith’s, then teaching swordsmanship to a child at the poultry shop, and finally learning of a ghostly presence nearby. His inquiries with the constable revealed recent perilous bandit attacks.
Shabri’s curiosity took him to Kaylessa, the local innkeeper, who spun tales of eerie phenomena in the Dessarin Valley: persistent fog, sudden hot winds, and lightning striking from hills—dubbed as “fell magic.” Additionally, Kaylessa tasked Shabri with investigating Lance Rock for a reward of 50 gold, hinting at something malevolent lurking there.
After a night of rest, the adventurers embarked on their investigations. Their first encounter led them to a bandit ambush. Despite the challenge, they triumphed, freeing a captive bear in the process, though Isaac bore the brunt of the battle’s toll.
Thus began their tumultuous journey in Red Larch, with mysteries unraveling and dangers lurking at every turn.
