Storm King’s Thunder (2) Session 55 Recap

  • After much discussion our heroes decided to head back to Everlund.
  • Ivar decided to head to the Keep of Vigilance, the local temple of Helm.
  • Skarr tried to find where he could get an oath bow, learning that he could get one somewhere in the forest, but unsure as to the exact details of how.
  • Antkeep did her usual contact other planes.
  • George was looking for misidentified magical items.
  • Lastly, Bedford was speaking with Krowen.
  • During the night, the high priest of the Keep of Vigilance had a terrible dream of an unholy being within the temple. Upon examining Ivar’s mark and throwing some holy water on Ivar, he felt the burn. Ivar immediately asked the priest to take his weapons and keep them safe and keep an eye on him.
  • Bedford met up with Ivar who told him what happened. Bedford then went to go get Skarr and Antkeep.
  • The group decided to return to the Harper tower with Ivar, and keep an eye on him there. As Ivar tried to pray to Helm he encountered fiery eyes that welcomed him, during this time his body moved on its own , summoning the same sword that the vampire lord used and began to fight his allies.
  • After some discussion and more contact other planes, our heroes to decided they would take Krowen up on his offer to meet with the so-called infernal chancellor in the hopes of freeing Ivar from this curse. Our heroes walked through a painting of a beautiful city, all except Befdor, who, quoting Ivar, didn’t want to deal with bad juju and decided to head back home.
  • As our heroes arrived they were greeted and a devil who asked them to sign in. After some initial hesitation, each member wrote their names in a book before being allowed to proceed. On the other side they saw a Tabaxi as well as a couple more devils. Despite Ivar’s initial rudeness, Antkeep smoothed things over and the devil decided not to keep the group waiting.
  • Our heroes saw a group of tabaxi leave a room and they were then escorted in. They were told the room was under a zone of truth spell and anyone who didn’t fail would be asked to leave.
  • Our heroes explained a bit of their situation, asking about Klauth, but received no aid when the devil, who was paid 50 gold, went to the chancellor to ask for direct negotiations. After a second attempt, this time having brought out the contract, our heroes were greeted by a well dressed devil.
