Storm King’s Thunder (2) Session 69 Recap

  • Our heroes continued their day, with Harlequin keeping an eye on the meat.
  • Hark, Antkeep, Ivar, and Shez went to see the dragon again. They spoke a bit and then Ivar took Antkeep and headed out. Shez left waiting for Hark, however Hark had something else in mind. He spoke with the dragon, telling it that the others were going to kill it, and he would mercy kill it if the dragon wished for it.
  • The dragon insisted he did not want to be mercy-killed, and he hoped for the best. Hark took a moment to think, but decided killing the dragon was still the best option. He picked the lock, went in, and started a fight with the dragon. The dragon roared in response, letting out a poison breath. Antkeep and Shez raced down and found the dragon and Hark engaged in deadly combat.
  • They called for Hark to stop, as the dragon saw them it moved and breathed another poison breath, aiming it so it would just hit Hark.
  • As Hark continued to fight the two cast spells on him, a hold person and a polymorph spell. Hark was polymorphed into a turtle and kept trying to attack the dragon, biting it. The poor dragon seemed terrified of the little turtle.
  • Shez and Antkeep called a meeting with the group, before unpolymorphing Hark, who was clearly not happy. He told Shez this was on him, and if the dragon attacked the town again it was on him and he would come for him. Hark then left.
  • The group got ready to sleep for the night, Antkeep took the opportunity to sneak down and speak with the dragon. She managed to get the dragon out of its cell as she polymorphed it.
  • She then tried to get out, unfortunately she was unable to. So she went to Shez’s room and told him she wanted out. After a bit of discussion she was allowed to exit the mansion.
  • Once out she dimension doored away and rested, allowing the dragon to return to its original shape.
  • She talked with the dragon a bit, learning that its name was Ansillion before the dragon left.
  • The next day our heroes regrouped and learned the dragon was gone. They knew they needed to speed things up, and upon finishing the food prepared most of it, all but the smallest of amounts and brought it to the hill. Ivar, unsure of what exactly to do, put the food down and was about to start jumping up and down on the hill as the hill moved and waves of earth came crashing down on the food as it disappeared into the earth. The group spent the remainder of the day in down, and were happy to see that the earthquakes had stopped.
  • The group got on their airship and headed out to face Yserthrax.
