As the giant dinosaur skeletons started to rise, our heroes readied to fight them. Mitsui thought these things looked neat and ran into the bellies, pretending to have been eaten by it and trapped. Our heroes were having an easy time taking these undead creatures down. Although the creatures hit hard, so did our heroes, and the dino skeletons quickly crumbled to dust.
Upon returning to their ship, Mitsui wanted to head over to Neverwinter. The rest of the party, however, wanted to head off to the next location, Shining White. Mitsui reluctantly agreed, however upon arrival, waited for the other party members to get off. Once they were all off, she threw her Rod of the Vonindod down and then the airship started heading off. Seraphina would not have this. She just had Xeric leave, never to return, and Tao didn’t want someone disappearing with all their stuff. They started attacking the airship’s balloon. Mitsui wrote a note on her paper bird, but alas in the heat of the moment, it was ignored.
The airship came crashing down; Mitsui decided to jump ship as it came down. She ran off the ship as she saw the fire elemental free during the crash. It went on a rampage throughout the downed airship, before it ran off.
Down on the ground, Mitsui got into an argument with Seraphina and Tao, which quickly came to an end as 4 hungry griffons came down, drawn by the commotion, and attacked our heroes. While Kida and Tao killed 2 of them, Seraphina started feeding a third one. Seeing this, Mitsui had an idea and reached in her bag, sticking her hand out and threw something in the fourth griffon’s mouth as it approached her. That griffon flew off.
Seraphina led the 3rd griffon to the crashed ship, getting some more food for it before it, too, flew off. She then had a chance to investigate the crashed ship. Three of the crew members had died, as well as Lola, Seraphina’s pet, each of them burned to death. Cradling Lola, she went back to the group, yelling at Mitsui, as none of this would have happened had she not tried to take the ship.
Kida tried to comfort her, however, Seraphina wasn’t very responsive. Tao stepped up to Mitsui, demanding the Bag of Holding. Mitsui willingly gave Tao the party’s Bag of Holding. Asking for Mitsui’s second bag, Mitsui refused. This then caused conflict. As Tao and Mitsui faced each other down, Traven cast Hold Person, freezing Mitsui in place. With her “friends” crowding around her, Mitsui was scared. All of a sudden, Kida and Tao ran away from Mitsui, as they saw demons coming out of her eyes. After Mitsui’s paralysis ended, a voice came out of Mitsui’s mouth, speaking in clear Common. Even Mitsui was confused by this. Her book started to change, becoming black with purple lines on it. Seraphina cut the rope attached to the book, hoping to get it away from MItsui, yet the book stayed floating in midair. She then tried moving it with her immovable rod, which disintegrated once it touched the book.
Seraphina, not knowing how to deal with all this insanity, went back to finish burying Lola. Mitsui tried explaining to those that remained that it was her childhood friend helping, although her companions were still just as confused at the end of the explanation.
While the group was busy figuring out what just happened, Mitsui headed for the altar assuming the artifact would be there, dug for a couple hours and found 2 halves of a broken mask and brought them to the group and threw them on the ground.
No longer having an airship, our heroes travelled by land, managing to find the road and the town of Mornbryn’s Shield. Most of our heroes headed to the tavern. Mitsui, however, headed off on her own, looking through town and examining what was there.
In the tavern, Traven and Tao started to get an arm wrestling contest going again. A man came and talked to them, asking if they knew anything about the Tomb of Mornbryn. He then went on to Seraphina and asked the same thing. As he was taking notes, Seraphina noticed the Zhentarim emblem on his notebook. She hastily left the tavern to look for Mitsui, transforming into a bat in order to get a better viewpoint of the city.
Thus the world grew weary and darkness enveloped all once again, waiting for time to resume.
