As the heroes plunged deeper into the treacherous depths, a grotesque isqulug emerged from the moving reeds, unleashing its larvae upon the party. The vile creature threatened their progress, infecting several members with its sinister spawn. Slych sprang into action, darting across the battlefield and channeling elemental powers to unleash a powerful blast of lightning upon the isqulug. Seizing the moment, Adam’andiél closed in, knocking the creature prone and creating an opening for the team. In retaliation, the isqulug raised the water level in the room, transforming the environment into a hazardous trap for the heroes. But Shadow Bell quickly adapted, casting spells that rendered half the room unusable for their foe, effectively neutralizing its advantage. Lightwing soared into the air, providing crucial aerial support as the party coordinated their attacks. With a concerted effort, they ultimately triumphed over the isqulug, clearing the path ahead.
After the battle, the party faced a pivotal decision at a crossroads, debating whether to take the north or south doors. They chose the north, only to discover both doors led to the same ominous location, where they encountered Lady’s Whisper. The ghostly figure, filled with rage at their passage through the trials, immediately attacked. Adam’andiél managed to trip Lady’s Whisper, but the heroes quickly realized their vitality abilities had no effect on her. In retaliation, she unleashed a wave of despair, causing many to weep and slowing their movements. Yet, the party held their ground, resisting her attempts to instill fear. Rhys seized the opportunity, landing sneak attacks that wounded Lady’s Whisper.
In a desperate bid to turn the tide, Lady’s Whisper cast haste upon herself, clawing at Rhys and teleporting him across the room. She pursued him relentlessly, but the party rallied together, striking her with final blows that ultimately brought her down. Slych kicked and examined her body to ensure she was truly dead, while Adam’andiél inspected a giant skull-shaped rock nearby but found nothing of interest. With Lady’s Whisper defeated, the party returned to Yldaris to rest and recover. Shadow Bell cleansed the party of the larvae infection they had sustained.
Retracing Lady’s Whisper’s path, the heroes were ambushed by dread wisps. The initial exchanges were fraught with misses on both sides, as the wisps turned invisible and harried the party. Despite their well-protected positions, the heroes struggled to strike their unseen foes. The dread wisps attempted to instill fear, but the party remained resolute, refusing to succumb to terror. They eventually vanquished the third dread wisp, followed by the second and third, showcasing their resilience and teamwork.
Continuing into Abomination Vaults, Adam’andiél reexamined a skull carving and discovered a hidden door, leading the party down a winding path to a large hole in the ground. Peering down, they were suddenly attacked by an irlgaunt that burst forth, regurgitating its previous meal over the heroes. Recognizing its weakness to bludgeoning damage, the party quickly adapted their strategy, beating the irlgaunt into submission and killing it. Among the remains of its victims, they found a strange jeweled torc.
With their newfound prize in hand, the party returned to the last unopened doors. As they opened the doors, they were met with a chilling sight: Urevian, the devil previously defeated, the crying ghost of Sid himself, Belcorra, and another group of wisps awaited them. The atmosphere thickened with tension as the heroes prepared for the confrontation ahead.
